Supporters of this year’s Chloe Charity Shield have raised a fantastic £500 for this years chosen charity following. Over fifty bowlers from four different counties competed for the shield which is played in memory of Chloe & Pauline Peters. This competition has raised over 4k for various charities in recent years and this year the chosen charity was ‘Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’. Representatives from the charity attended with Deborah thanking supporters for their efforts giving a brief insight into the charity and how valued the funds raised are to the organisation.

The triples competition was the format with each team playing 5 games. A quiz was also run in conjunction with the bowls competition for those that wanted to take part. Prizes were awarded to the top four positions with the top two only being able to be separated by shot difference of 2 shots after both teams scored a maximum of 10 points winning all games.

The finals results were as follows:

Winners: J Goff, L Bignall & D Bignall (Braza) 10 points & 28 shots.

Runners Up: A Wright, P Griffiths & C West (Holbeach) 10 points & 26 shots.

3rd Place: S Killington, P Fautley & P Bax (Essex) 8 points & 27 shots.

4th Place: A McFarene, R Kingham & G Heath 8 points & 12 shots.

Doddington SMBC Chairman thanked everyone for attending, supporting the event and to all those who helped make the day possible. He said ‘This competition alone has raised funds for over 14 different charities in recent years and once again despite the break since the last Chloe Shield was held, regular and new supporters still turned out to raise a fantastic amount of money for another great cause’
